As UEFA Women's EURO 2022 reaches its climax, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin hails the fantastic success of a tournament that has taken women's football to another level.

"There are not enough superlatives to describe UEFA Women’s EURO 2022. Quite simply, it has been a tournament for the ages.

Over three captivating weeks, remarkable new standards have been set for women’s football. Records have been smashed across the board, with fans of all ages enthralled and wonderfully engaged by what has become a fantastic festival on and off the pitch. We hoped this would be the best ever Women’s EURO, but it has been even better than we imagined.

The hour of reckoning is here for England and Germany – two high-calibre teams meeting at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium, just one more victory away from writing themselves into the history books.

The two finalists have overcome formidable challenges to get to this stage, and they know that a last successful effort will bring them footballing glory and renown in their country and beyond. The team that brandishes the trophy after the final whistle will savour their reward at the end of an exhilarating journey".
