Sérgio Conceição: "We Must Face Juventus with Our Heads Held High"
On the eve of the Italian Super Cup semifinal, Sérgio Conceição, the new head coach of AC Milan, shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash against Juventus.
"If you asked me whether I’d want more time to prepare or a full squad available, of course, I’d say 'yes.' But I knew the situation when I took the job, and there can be no excuses. We must step onto the pitch against Juventus with our heads held high," Conceição stated.
The 49-year-old replaced former Shakhtar Donetsk coach Paulo Fonseca, who was dismissed last week. Conceição now faces a crucial challenge as he attempts to guide Milan into the Super Cup final.
The match between Juventus and Milan kicks off tonight at 8:00 PM CET. Meanwhile, Inter Milan became the first finalist yesterday after a 2-0 victory over Atalanta.
