Europa League

Following the 7th round of the UEFA Europa League group stage, the teams advancing to the playoffs have been determined, with some already securing direct qualification to the Round of 16.

Lazio has been the standout performer, boasting an impressive record of 6 wins, 1 draw, and 19 points. The Italian side has guaranteed themselves a place in the Round of 16, bypassing the knockout round playoffs entirely. No matter the results in the final matchday, Lazio will finish among the top 8 teams in the competition.

Unlike the UEFA Champions League, the Europa League group stage has seen a more spread-out points distribution, allowing a significant number of teams to secure their playoff spots with one round remaining. Teams with 11 or more points have already ensured their progression. Alongside Lazio, 14 other clubs have booked their place in the next round:

  • Eintracht Frankfurt
  • Athletic Bilbao
  • Manchester United
  • Lyon
  • Tottenham Hotspur
  • Anderlecht
  • FCSB
  • Galatasaray
  • Bodø/Glimt
  • Viktoria Plzeň
  • Olympiacos
  • Rangers
  • AZ Alkmaar
  • Union Saint-Gilloise

The final round of the Europa League group stage will take place on Thursday, January 30th, with all matches kicking off simultaneously at 21:00 CET. While some teams will be fighting for seeding or a direct spot in the Round of 16, others will aim to secure their place in the knockout round playoffs.
