Argentine media have confirmed that Manchester United defender Lisandro Martínez has suffered a serious injury that will rule him out for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The injury occurred in the 82nd minute of the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on February 1, when Martínez was forced off the pitch on a stretcher. Following a thorough medical assessment, it was revealed that the 26-year-old has torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his knee.

Martínez is expected to undergo a lengthy recovery process, with an estimated return timeline of 6 to 8 months.

So far this season, the Argentine international has featured in 32 matches across all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists, playing a key role in Manchester United's defensive line.
