Liverpool has initiated negotiations with Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich, according to Caught Offside.

The 30-year-old midfielder's contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of this season, and if he moves to another club, he will leave as a free agent.

Liverpool is not the only club interested in the German international. Top clubs such as Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly eyeing Kimmich as a potential summer signing.

Previously, Kimmich had stated that he would prefer to stay at Bayern Munich, but he has also left the door open for a move to another top club if the opportunity arises.

Joshua Kimmich has been with Bayern Munich since the summer of 2015. This season, in 32 appearances for the club, he has registered one goal and nine assists. Transfermarkt values him at €50 million.
