Illya Zabarnyi completes medical ahead of PSG move - contract signing imminent
Illya Zabarnyi is on the verge of becoming a new player for Paris Saint-Germain, with only the contract signing left to complete what has been one of the summer's more closely watched transfer developments.
The 21-year-old Ukrainian defender successfully passed his medical in Paris late last night, according to French journalist Marc Mechenoua. The final paperwork and signature are expected to be completed later today.
PSG has reportedly reached a full agreement with AFC Bournemouth, securing the player’s rights for a total package worth €66 million – €63 million as the base fee, with an additional €3 million in potential add-ons.
This concludes a hard-fought negotiation, as sources close to the deal reveal that Bournemouth, nicknamed "The Cherries", initially demanded €70 million for Zabarnyi. Ultimately, the Premier League club agreed to a slightly reduced fee, allowing the French giants to finalize the deal.
