Freiburg - Celta 3:0

Celta Vigo endured a nightmare night in Germany, suffering a heavy defeat that leaves them on the brink of elimination from the UEFA Europa Conference League. The side coached by Claudio Giraldez produced one of their poorest displays of the season, struggling to cope with an aggressive and well-drilled SC Freiburg outfit from the very first whistle.

The breakthrough arrived early, as Vincenzo Grifo struck in the 10th minute to set the tone for the evening. From that point on, Freiburg dominated proceedings, controlling possession and exploiting a fragile Celta Vigo defence that looked completely out of its depth. Just before the interval, Jan-Niklas Beste doubled the hosts’ advantage, capitalising on yet another costly error from the visitors.

After the break, Celta Vigo attempted to shift momentum with a series of substitutions, but any hopes of a comeback were effectively ended when Matthias Ginter powered home from a corner to make it three. The German side continued to press, with Lucas Höler coming close to adding a fourth, only to see his effort drift wide.
