Bayern Munich cruised into the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal with a commanding 6-1 victory over Magdeburg, although the visitors made life uncomfortable for the Bundesliga giants during a fiercely contested first half. Michael Olise opened the scoring for the favourites, only for Magdeburg to hit back through Zukowski. Bayern quickly regained the lead thanks to Saibari, setting the stage for a second-half goal fest.

The hosts turned the contest into a rout after the break, with Olise completing his brace from the penalty spot with a cheeky Panenka-style finish. Alphonso Davies, Braun and Santos then added further goals to complete a comprehensive 6-1 triumph.

Elsewhere in the competition, Bayer Leverkusen secured their place in the last 16 by progressing past Nuremberg, keeping their own DFB-Pokal ambitions firmly on track.
