Chelsea Sign João Pedro from Brighton in €72M Deal
Chelsea have officially completed the signing of João Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth €72 million — comprising €66 million upfront and €6 million in performance-related bonuses.
The Brazilian forward has put pen to paper on a seven-year contract, tying him to Stamford Bridge until the age of 30, as the Blues continue their aggressive recruitment drive ahead of the new season and the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
Pedro becomes the latest addition to a growing list of Chelsea’s summer acquisitions, which already includes Liam Delap, Estevão, Dário Essugo, Mamadou Sarr, and Kendry Páez. Meanwhile, a £55 million deal for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Borussia Dortmund is also nearing completion.
Immediate Impact Possible
Chelsea have already registered João Pedro for the Club World Cup, with the squad window open until July 3. That means the 22-year-old striker could make his debut as soon as Saturday morning, when Chelsea face Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.
