Ukrainian journalist Andriy Senkiv reports that UPL clubs have decided on the new format of the next season.

"There is a finalization version of the new UPL season. The teams are divided into two groups. Each group has 8 teams. The first group one is Minai, Rukh, Lviv FC and 5 teams that are going to play in Europe (Shakhtar, Dynamo, Zorya, Dnipro-1 and Vorskla). The second group is the rest of the teams.

They season is played in two rounds. The first group plays in Lviv and Western Ukraine. The second one plays in Kyiv and Kyiv region. So we have 14 matches that are played during 3 months. In the spring the 4 best teams from each group form a new one. The same goes for the 4 worst teams. Then the teams again play in two rounds with 28 matches in total. In the end of the season 2 worst teams are out of the UPL.

"Mariupol" and "Desna" are guranteed to rejoin Premier League in the future, however when exactly it will happen is unknown".
