Patrick van Leeuwen named new head coach of Zorya

Dutch manager Patrick van Leeuwen became the new head coach of Zorya Luhansk, signing a 3 year contract with Ukrainian side.

Patrick van Leeuwen previously worked in Ukraine from 2006 to 2013 when he was in charge of Shakhtar Donetsk Academy. After 2013 he was a sport director of the Kazakhstan "Kairat" and Executive Director of Maccabi Tel Aviv. At the end of the 2019/20 season he became israelian club head coach. In the 2020/2021 season under his management Maccabi finished 2nd in the Premier League and won the Israel Cup.

“We wish you success in Zorya Luhansk, winning titles with our team, many victories both in the domestic arena and in the European competitions. Moreover, the matches in the Conference League are coming very soon! We all hope that great victories are yet to come!”, says the message posted on Zarya's official website.
