Igor Jovicevic is Shakhtar's new head coach

Shakhtar Donetsk has signed a two-year deal with the Croatian coach Igor Jovicevic. Jovicevic is the 35th head coach in the history of Shakhtar.

Igor Jovicevic was born on 30 November 1973 in Zagreb, Croatia. He began his player career at the Dinamo Zagreb academy and in the U21 team of Real Madrid (1991-1995). He played for Zagreb (1996-1999, 2000-2001), Japan’s Yokohama F. Marinos (1999), Brazil’s Guarani (2000), Frence’s Metz (2001-2002), China’s Shenyang Jinde ( 2002), Karpaty (2003), China’s Zhuhai (2004).

Coaching career: Karpaty (2012-2015), Celje (2016-2017), Dinamo Zagreb U19 (2017-2020), Dinamo Zagreb (2020), Dnipro-1 ( 2020-2022).

As a coach, he had 92 matches in the Ukrainian Championship and Cup: 37 wins, 18 draws, 37 defeats (goal difference of 135-120).
