FC Bayern got their pre-season off to a winning start on Wednesday evening with a 6-2 victory over DC United on the Audi Summer Tour in the USA.

Julian Nagelsmann: "The most important thing is that we won. That's what matters, even in pre-season games. It's important to get that desire to win. I wanted to see the things we've practised in training in detail.

It was important today that the players were always alert in a new formation and that we find the best attacking positions and are good in our gegenpressing. We need to improve that counter-pressing because we conceded too many goals last season. That was the most important point today.

I was pleased with it in the first half. It was okay in the second. The gaps between the players were too big there to defend well. At the end of the day, it's always about observing the details from the training sessions in pre-season matches."
