Ryan Christie, Scotland midfielder, commented on the victory in a Nations League game with Ireland:
"We would have liked it a bit easier after such a convincing result in midweek. We kept pressing them in the second half and character in the squad got us through.”
”Winning penalty? Thankfully the goalie goes one way, I go the other and the ball goes in and it’s enough to get us the win. Why not go to Ukraine and try to win that game too?"
"In the first half we found it tough to control the game. We showed a right bit of character in the second half to get back in the game. The gaffer has kept me on penalties for the last few games. I fancy myself and I was waiting for the 'keeper to dive out of the way almost and thankfully it goes in."
