Murat Yakin, Switzerland coach, spoke to the press after the game with Spain:

'We were so well organised, we remained solid and the goals we scored came at the perfect moments. We learned a lot from our errors in previous games, we started better and that helped us a lot in the final result."

"I congratulate my players for having beaten Portugal and Spain, winning here for the first time ever. Beating big rivals is important if we stay compact, if we keep learning from our mistakes. It's history, but statistics don't matter to me too much. We need to demonstrate this type of performance at home in front of our fans."

"We knew we could profit from set plays and so it proved to be."

"Akanji is out for the next game, sadly, because of suspension. We'll have to find a way to substitute him, Schär for example, but there's time now to prepare for the next game."
