Van Dijk: Job done for Netherlands

Added at:

Virgil van Dijk, Netherlands captain, speaking to UEFA.coma about Nations League game with Belgium.

“Job done. It was tough today. Keeping another clean sheet was very important. There was a slight chance that they could turn it around but we felt confident that we could definitely make sure they didn’t score three goals.

We can always improve but it’s not easy to play against the number two in the world ranking and against one of the best midfielders in the world, Kevin de Bruyne, and Eden Hazard. But at the end of the day, football’s about winning – and we’re happy that we did.

After the goal, we created even more chances and could have scored two, three or four. But we will definitely analyse the game and see what we can improve, because that’s how we are.”
