Frenkie de Jong: I expect that my first World Cup will be a beautiful experience

Frenkie de Jong speaking to FIFA+ revealed his excitement as Qatar 2022 approaches:

- I expect that my first World Cup will be a beautiful experience. I am really looking forward to it and I am really excited. And, hopefully, we will do great. Playing in a World Cup was always a dream for me when I was little. [It is] even now. I think playing in the World Cup is the biggest achievement for any footballer.

The Netherlands are expected to progress through Group A in Qatar, but is the team anticipating three difficult fixtures?
People shouldn’t underestimate the group. I noticed how people reacted [to the draw], but I think we have a really strong group. We will have to be at our best if we want to advance. I have confidence against every team we play, it doesn’t matter which country they are from. But all three of the teams we are playing against are great teams with a lot of quality, so we shall see.
