FC Shakhtar has announced the termination of the contract with head coach Igor Jovicevic. The coaching staff leaves the club together with the manager.

Igor Jovicevic has led the Miners since July 2022. During this time, the team played 40 official matches, in which they won 24 victories, had 10 draws and 6 losses. Shakhtar became the champions of Ukraine for the 14th time in history under the guidance of Jovicevic. It was the first title in the coaching career of the Croatian mentor.

According to Ukrainian press, the new head coach of Shakhtar will be former Zorya manager Patrick van Leeuwen.
