The Brazilian national team redeemed itself after the draw at the start of the 2-2024 Copa America.

The Pentacampeons defeated Paraguay 4:1 in the second round of the group stage. By the 45th minute the score was 3:0 - Vinicius scored a brace.

Immediately after the break, Alderete gave hope to the nominal hosts, however Paqueta set the final score in the 65th minute.
