Liverpool made the most of Manchester City's misfire and increased the gap in the EPL standings to five points after a home win over Aston Villa.

Arne Slot's team scored a goal in each of the halves - Darwin Nunez gave the hosts the lead as a result of a quick counterattack, and in the end of the match the final score was set by Mohamed Salah, who ran into the penalty area from the centre of the pitch.
