Rúben Amorim on Manchester United: “I’m Exactly Where I’m Meant to Be”
New Manchester United head coach Rúben Amorim has shared his thoughts on his first few days at the club. The 39-year-old began his tenure earlier this week and recently visited Old Trafford for the first time in his new role.
2024-25, English Premier League: Standings
"When Manchester United talked to me, Omar told me about their plans and you get excited," he enthused.
"It's a real honour, because I was the first choice to start that path. So it's a great responsibility. But you feel honoured and excited to be part of that.
"We know that if the team plays well and wins games, everything looks so much better and the people really start to believe in the new stadium and new ideas.
"So, we know that we are the engine of the football. Manchester United is the engine of the Premier League, in my opinion,” Amorim remarked.
Ready to Lead
Amorim, who made a name for himself at Sporting Lisbon with his tactical acumen and ability to develop young talent, takes on one of the most demanding jobs in football. His appointment signals a new chapter for Manchester United as the club looks to restore its status among Europe’s elite.
The Portuguese manager’s calm confidence and appreciation for the history of Old Trafford suggest he’s ready to embrace the challenge and guide United back to glory.
