Reece James, captain of Chelsea, will miss the upcoming Premier League clash against Leicester City after sustaining another injury during his international duty with England.

The right-back had only recently returned to full fitness following a previous setback but now finds himself back in the treatment room.

Manager’s Update

Speaking ahead of the match, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca provided an update on the player’s condition:

"We have just one confirmed injury — Reece James. He felt some discomfort, and we don’t want to take any risks with his health. It’s an issue with his hamstring, a muscle problem. He won’t be available this week."

Maresca added:

"Reece is the only definite absentee. The rest of the squad is in varying states — some players are feeling better, while others remain doubtful. We’ll assess them closer to the game."

Chelsea will face Leicester City on Thursday, November 23, with kickoff scheduled for 13:30 CET. The Blues will need to navigate this fixture without their skipper as they look to climb the league standings.
