Illya Zabarnyi

Real Madrid have reportedly set their sights on 22-year-old central defender Illya Zabarnyi, currently playing for AFC Bournemouth. According to Defensa Central, the Ukrainian's performances have caught the attention of the Spanish giants, and his profile aligns well with their transfer strategy.

Transfer Hurdles

Despite the interest, there’s a significant obstacle. Bournemouth reportedly value Zabarnyi at over €60 million, a price that Real Madrid are not yet willing to meet. However, his consistent displays in the Premier League — featuring in all 12 matches this season without being substituted — make him a compelling prospect.

Contract and Future Potential

Zabarnyi is contracted to Bournemouth until June 30, 2029, which strengthens the club’s bargaining position. At just 22, he is already showcasing his ability to compete at the highest level, making him an appealing long-term option for Madrid's defensive line.

Ukrainian Connection at Real

If the move materializes, Zabarnyi would join compatriot Andriy Lunin, who recently extended his contract with Real Madrid until 2030. The presence of another Ukrainian at the Bernabéu could potentially ease Zabarnyi’s adaptation to life in Madrid.
