Southampton - Liverpool 2:3

In the 12th round of the Premier League, the last and the first teams played each other - Southampton hosted Liverpool.

The visitors started the match more actively, creating several chances, the most dangerous of which was Salah's shot into the corner, but McCarthy made a great save.

The first mistake of Southampton happened in the 30th minute, when the hosts failed to clear the ball from their penalty area and gave it to the opponent. Soboslaj said thanks with an accurate shot from the penalty line into the far bottom corner.

Robertson later made a mistake and the referee awarded a penalty to Southampton. Kelleher coped with Armstrong's shot, but he himself put the ball in the net after the Liverpool goalkeeper's save.

In the 56th minute Southampton took the lead with a Liverpool-style counterattack, during which the hosts could have lost the ball twice, but by some miracle it was delivered to Fernandes - Kelleher didn't even move when he sent the ball into the bottom corner.

In the 65th minute McCarthy lost the ball and Salah didn't have to think and headed the ball into the net past the goalkeeper.

In the 82nd minute Sugawara decided to play with his hand in his own penalty box and Liverpool got a penalty - Salah beat the goalkeeper with a flawless shot into the net.

Salah could have scored a hat-trick, but at the end of the game he hit the bar.

3-2 - Liverpool's tenth win of the season in the Premier League, which allowed Arne Slot's team to take an eight-point lead over Manchester City. In the next round, they will meet at Anfield in a face-to-face encounter.
