David Moyes was today officially appointed as Everton's new head coach

David Moyes has been officially appointed as Everton's new head coach.

The 61-year-old Scotsman has signed a two-and-a-half year contract. He will replace Sean Dyche at Goodison Park, who was sacked this Thursday.

David Moyes is Everton's most successful coach in the 21st century. He worked in the team from 2002 to 2013 before leaving for Manchester United and then went on to manage Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham.

"I spent 11 wonderful and successful years at Everton and had no hesitation when I was offered the opportunity to return to this great club," - Moyes said. - "Now we need Goodison and all Everton fans to play their part in supporting the players in this important season so we can move into our wonderful new stadium as a Premier League team."

Everton are 16th in the EPL and in danger of leaving England's top division - the Toffees have won just three of their 19 league games this season.
