Kevin De Bruyne Open to Staying at Manchester City in Limited Role
Kevin De Bruyne is reportedly open to the idea of extending his stay at Manchester City despite his current contract expiring at the end of the season. The Belgian midfielder has been linked with a move to MLS for several months now, but it seems he’s willing to remain in the Premier League, albeit in a more limited role.
This season, De Bruyne has started in less than half of City's Premier League matches, and he has come to the realization that he may no longer meet the physical demands required to thrive in Pep Guardiola's system.
According to The Times, the 33-year-old has accepted that his role at Manchester City will likely be reduced if he stays beyond this season. While he is open to continuing with the club, the main obstacle could be agreeing on a new contract, especially given his current wage of around £400,000 per week.
