Joshua Zirkzee Ruled Out for Remainder of Manchester United’s Season
Manchester United have suffered a late-season blow with striker Joshua Zirkzee ruled out for the rest of the campaign due to a hamstring injury.
The news was confirmed by head coach Rúben Amorim during a press conference earlier today. The Dutch forward will play no further part in United’s 2024/25 season after picking up a thigh injury that requires a full recovery period.
“Joshua is out for the rest of the season. He won’t return before the end of the campaign. Our focus now is to get him fully fit for next season. It’s tough for any player to stop, but that’s football,” Amorim told reporters.
Zirkzee has endured a challenging debut season at Old Trafford following his summer move from Bologna in 2024. Despite making 51 appearances across all competitions, the 22-year-old managed just 8 goals — struggling to consistently find his rhythm in front of goal.
The injury marks a disappointing end to Zirkzee’s first year with the Red Devils, who are currently battling for European qualification in the final stretch of the Premier League season.
