Brighton - Liverpool 3:2

Brighton & Hove Albion produced a stunning second-half comeback to beat newly crowned champions Liverpool 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League encounter at the Amex Stadium.

Heading into the matchday 37 clash, Jürgen Klopp’s side had already sealed the Premier League title, but that didn’t stop them from starting like champions. It took just minutes for young midfielder Harvey Elliott to open the scoring, giving the visitors an early lead and seemingly setting the tone for the evening.

But Brighton weren’t going down quietly. Swedish midfielder Yasin Ayari brought the hosts level midway through the first half with a well-taken effort, only for Dominik Szoboszlai to restore Liverpool’s lead just before the break with a stunning long-range strike — a moment that, at the time, looked like it might seal all three points.

However, Brighton had other ideas after the interval. On 69 minutes, Japanese international Kaoru Mitoma pounced on a loose ball in the box to equalise, before 18-year-old sensation Jack Hinshelwood fired home what proved to be the winner just five minutes from time. The goal was initially ruled out for offside, but a VAR check overturned the decision — sparking wild celebrations on the South Coast.
