PSG Blasts France National Team Over Injuries of Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué
Paris Saint-Germain has publicly criticized the France national team following injuries sustained by Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué during an international friendly against Ukraine.
In an official club statement, PSG accused the French Football Federation of ignoring medical advice and putting players at unnecessary risk. According to the statement:
“We have sent an official letter to the French Football Federation with an urgent request to establish a new medical coordination protocol between clubs and the national team — one that is more transparent, cooperative, and prioritizes player health above all else.”
PSG claims it provided the French medical team with detailed information regarding the physical condition and workload limits of both Dembélé and Doué prior to the international break. However, the club says this data was ignored, and no consultation was made with PSG’s medical staff before fielding the players.
The Parisian club expressed its disappointment, adding: “We deeply regret the lack of communication and failure to apply the precautionary principle, especially in the case of players currently undergoing treatment for known medical conditions.”
As a result of the match against Ukraine, Ousmane Dembélé has reportedly suffered a serious hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks. Désiré Doué will also miss up to four weeks due to an undisclosed injury sustained during the same fixture.
