Five for Haaland, Four for Østgård: Norway Hit 11 in Historic Rout of Moldova

Moldova’s only goal came via a Norwegian own goal

Erling Haaland scored an astonishing five goals and Thelo Østgård added four more as Norway demolished Moldova 11–1 in a record-smashing performance during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Oslo.

It took just six minutes for Norway to make their intentions clear. Haaland provided an assist for Felix Myehro to open the scoring, before embarking on a goal-scoring rampage of his own — bagging five goals to become the first Norwegian player in 77 years to net a "penta-trick" in an official match.

Not to be outdone, Thelo Østgård put in a career-best performance with four goals, completing a sensational poker. Ironically, Moldova’s only goal came via a Norwegian own goal — the lone blemish on an otherwise perfect night for the home side, who were relentless in their hunger for goals.
