The transition could also offer Arsenal a taste of higher matchday income even before the Emirates renovation is complete

Arsenal could soon be calling Wembley Stadium home—at least temporarily. According to a report from The Telegraph, the North London club is exploring the possibility of relocating to the national stadium while major redevelopment work is carried out at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are planning to expand the capacity of the Emirates from its current 60,700 seats to over 70,000, with a view to increasing matchday revenue and accommodating growing demand, particularly for season tickets. The project, which is still in the planning stages, would involve extensive upgrades affecting all sections of the ground—not just localized areas.

With such comprehensive works expected to make the Emirates unusable for a period, Wembley, with its 90,000-seat capacity, has been identified as a potential temporary venue for Arsenal’s Premier League and European fixtures.

The move would mirror previous arrangements made by other London clubs, such as Tottenham Hotspur, who used Wembley during the construction of their new stadium. The transition could also offer Arsenal a taste of higher matchday income even before the Emirates renovation is complete.
