The 25-year-old is expected to feature in France’s upcoming UEFA World Cup 2026 qualifying matches

Kylian Mbappé has been given the green light to remain with the France national team after a precautionary medical examination revealed no serious damage to his ankle, according to L’Équipe.

The Real Madrid superstar sparked concern after limping off during the 83rd minute of Los Blancos' recent clash against Villarreal, following a heavy challenge that left him with an ankle contusion. While early reports confirmed a bruise, there were no details on potential complications—until now.

France’s medical staff conducted their own assessment upon his arrival at the national camp and found no reason for concern. Manager Didier Deschamps had earlier described the injury as “minor” during a press conference, and those words have now been backed by the doctors: the ankle has fully healed, and Mbappé is deemed fit to play.

The 25-year-old is expected to feature in France’s upcoming UEFA World Cup 2026 qualifying matches against Azerbaijan and Iceland, as Les Bleus look to cement their position at the top of their group.
