Argentina claimed a narrow 1–0 win over Venezuela in an international friendly held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami — but did so without their iconic captain Lionel Messi on the pitch.

Although Messi, currently playing for Inter Miami, was present at the stadium, he watched the action unfold from the VIP section and did not feature in the matchday squad.

Despite the absence of their talisman, La Albiceleste secured the win thanks to a well-placed strike from Giovani Lo Celso in the 31st minute. The goal proved to be the difference in a game where both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances.
