Erling Haaland Bags Hat-Trick as Norway Thrash Israel
Erling Haaland proved once again why he's one of the most lethal strikers in world football, scoring a second-half hat-trick as Norway dismantled Israel 5–0 in their latest 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash.
Remarkably, the Manchester City superstar had a rough start to the evening in Oslo, missing not one but two penalties in the fifth minute. Daniel Peretz, the Israeli goalkeeper, saved Haaland's initial spot-kick — and then repeated the feat after the referee ordered a retake. But the 24-year-old wasn’t to be denied for long.
After a goalless first half, Haaland exploded into action, scoring three times in a clinical 30-minute spell and taking his international tally to 50 goals — an extraordinary milestone for the Norwegian forward.
Norway dominated from start to finish, with goals also coming from Martin Ødegaard and Jens Petter Hauge, as Ståle Solbakken’s side extended their winning streak to six matches in the UEFA World Cup qualifiers.
