Georgia - Spain 0:4

Spain moved within touching distance of securing their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a dominant 4–0 victory over Georgia in the fifth round of the UEFA qualifiers.

The visitors took control early. On the 11th minute, Mikel Oyarzabal calmly converted a penalty to open the scoring. Just ten minutes later, Martín Zubimendi doubled the lead, finishing off a slick Spanish passing move. Before the break, Ferran Torres made it 3–0, effectively killing off any suspense. In the second half, Spain continued to dictate the tempo, and Oyarzabal sealed his brace with a precise strike in the 63rd minute.

The emphatic win puts La Roja on the verge of official qualification. Only a mathematical formality remains: they must avoid a seven-goal defeat in their final match against Turkey — a scenario that feels all but impossible given Spain’s current form.
