Nine-goal blitz in Caen as Marseille crush Bayeux

Olympique Marseille produced a ruthless display in Caen, sweeping aside amateur side Bayeux with a staggering 9–0 victory to underline their growing ambitions in the Coupe de France.
Facing the last remaining amateur club in the competition, the team led by Roberto De Zerbi wasted no time in asserting their dominance. The tie was effectively settled inside the opening half-hour, with four goals by the 32nd minute. Gomes, Traore, Mason Greenwood and Amine Gouiri all found the net as Marseille overwhelmed their opponents with pace, movement and clinical finishing.
The gulf in quality was evident throughout, but the context of the competition made the result even more significant. Following the shock elimination of Paris Saint-Germain, the path now looks wide open for Olympique Marseille to claim their first major trophy since 2012 — a prospect that is quickly gaining belief among supporters.
