FC Porto ended a two-year winless streak against their fierce rivals Benfica, securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory in the Taça de Portugal quarter-final. The decisive goal came in the 15th minute from Bednarek, and despite relentless pressure from the visitors, Porto held firm to book their place in the semi-finals under the guidance of Francesco Farioli.

Anatoliy Trubin put in a solid display for Benfica, producing several key saves to keep his side in contention throughout the match.
