Portugal, missing their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, delivered a disciplined defensive display but struggled to make an impact going forward in an underwhelming friendly against Mexico.
Roberto Martínez’s side controlled possession for large stretches of the match, yet their dominance failed to translate into meaningful chances. Creativity in the final third was notably absent, leaving the European side short of cutting edge when it mattered most.
In truth, clear opportunities were at a premium throughout the 90 minutes. Between the two teams, just three shots on target were registered — two of them coming from Portugal.
