The UEFA Champions League 2026/27 qualifying campaign kicked off on Tuesday and Wednesday, as clubs from across Europe took their first steps towards a place in the continent's most prestigious club competition.

The opening round was defined by fierce competition and closely contested encounters, with very few teams able to establish a commanding advantage ahead of the return fixtures. Across the board, the margins remained slim, setting the stage for a dramatic second leg.

The only standout exception came in Belarus, where Romania's Universitatea Craiova produced a ruthless away performance to defeat Maksline Vitebsk 4-1. The emphatic victory leaves the Romanian side in complete control of the tie and with one foot firmly in the next qualifying round.
