Borussia Dortmund beat Arsenal to win the 2026 Emirates Cup

Borussia Dortmund lifted the Emirates Cup 2026 after beating hosts Arsenal 3-2 in an entertaining final at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, August 9.
Arsenal had dominated the competition's history, winning the trophy nine times since 2007. However, the Gunners were unable to add another title to their collection as Borussia Dortmund produced a ruthless performance in the final.
The German side made a flying start and took control of the game in the first half. Ignacio opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Carney Chukwuemeka doubled Dortmund's advantage in the 29th minute, leaving Arsenal 2-0 down at the break.
The hosts responded after half-time, with Ethan Nwaneri pulling one back in the 54th minute. But Dortmund immediately restored their two-goal cushion as Gadou found the net just four minutes later.
Viktor Gyokeres gave Arsenal renewed hope from the penalty spot in the 69th minute, making it 3-2. The Gunners pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, but Borussia Dortmund held firm to secure the trophy.
The 3-2 victory saw Borussia Dortmund crowned Emirates Cup 2026 winners, while Arsenal were left to settle for second place on home soil.
