RC Lens have made history by winning the Trophée des Champions

RC Lens have made history by winning the Trophée des Champions for the first time, edging past reigning French champions Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in a dramatic encounter.

The decisive moment came in the 32nd minute when Florian Thauvin found the back of the net to give Lens a precious lead. The underdogs were then forced to defend with 10 men after Killian Antonio was shown a red card, but PSG failed to make their numerical advantage count.

Despite dominating possession and throwing men forward in search of an equaliser, Paris Saint-Germain could not break through a determined Lens defence. The balance was restored late in the game when Nuno Mendes was also dismissed, leaving both sides with 10 players on the pitch.

For Illya Zabarnyi, the match was particularly memorable. The Ukraine international started for PSG, played the full 90 minutes and reportedly emerged as one of the standout performers for the Parisian side, with several respected outlets rating him as their best player on the night.

The final whistle sparked historic celebrations for Lens, who secured their first-ever French Super Cup and claimed a landmark victory over one of Europe's most powerful clubs.
