Benfica have made a statement in the Primeira Liga, crushing Casa Pia 7-0 away from home to record their first league win of the season. The visitors wasted no time, with Gianluca Prestianni opening the scoring after just three minutes before Rafa Silva doubled the advantage in the 14th minute.

The second half turned into a demolition job. Vangelis Pavlidis produced a devastating seven-minute spell, scoring three times between the 47th and 55th minutes to complete a superb hat-trick. An own goal from Lawrence Ofori made it 6-0 before Jhon Durán put the finishing touch on an emphatic victory with Benfica's seventh goal in the 61st minute.

There was also plenty of interest for Ukrainian football fans. Anatoliy Trubin once again watched from the bench, while Heorhiy Sudakov was named in the starting XI and played 78 minutes. The Ukrainian midfielder did not register a goal or assist, although he did provide the cross from a corner that led to a header from Tomás Araújo.
