Official: Shakhtar to Play Champions League Home Games at Stamford Bridge

Shakhtar Donetsk have officially confirmed that, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals, they will play their home matches in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League 2026/27 at Stamford Bridge in London. An agreement has been reached between the Ukrainian club's management and Chelsea.
In a statement, Shakhtar Donetsk said: "Playing our Champions League home matches at Stamford Bridge is a special opportunity for Shakhtar. We are grateful to Chelsea for giving us the chance to host our games at such an iconic venue. Stamford Bridge is one of the most famous stadiums in world football, with an incredible history and atmosphere. We are confident that Shakhtar's matches in London will create unforgettable emotions for Ukrainian and English fans."
Stamford Bridge is one of England's most iconic football grounds. Opened in 1877, the stadium underwent major redevelopment from the 1970s through to the early 2000s, with its modern appearance taking shape following the completion of the new West Stand in 2001.
Located in Fulham, west London, Stamford Bridge has been the home of Chelsea since the club was founded in 1905. More than 120 years later, the historic ground remains one of the most recognisable venues in English football and currently has a capacity of 40,022.
