Marcus Tavernier gave the visitors the breakthrough midway through the first half, putting Bournemouth 1-0 ahead. Manchester City struggled to find a way through for much of the game, with the Cherries holding on to their advantage deep into the second half.

The momentum finally shifted in the 84th minute when Marc Guehi levelled the score, setting up a tense finale at the Etihad. With the match seemingly heading for a share of the points, Josko Gvardiol struck in the first minute of stoppage time to complete City's comeback.
