PSG Mark Enrique Contract Extension With Defeat to Monaco

It was supposed to be a night of celebration for PSG. Before kick-off, the Parisian giants officially announced that head coach Luis Enrique had signed a new long-term contract keeping him at the club until 2030. But the celebrations quickly turned sour as the French champions suffered a surprise defeat.
In a home Ligue 1 clash, Paris Saint-Germain were beaten 2-1 by Monaco in a frustrating evening for the hosts. Marquinhos gave PSG the perfect start, firing home to put the home side in front. However, after the break, Monaco capitalised on defensive mistakes to turn the game around and claim all three points.
For Luis Enrique, the new contract therefore arrived alongside an unexpected setback on the pitch. Ukrainian defender Illia Zabarnyi was named among the substitutes but remained on the bench for the entire match.
