Franco Mastantuono produced a stunning individual display as Fiorentina finally secured their first win of the season, beating Venezia 4-2 in an entertaining Serie A encounter.

The victory also marked the return of Paolo Vanoli to the Fiorentina dugout after the dismissal of Fabio Grosso. The new head coach wasted no time making changes, reshuffling half of his outfield starting XI in a bid to spark a turnaround.

Venezia stunned the visitors by taking the lead through Agor Adams, who scored his first-ever Serie A goal. The advantage, however, lasted just moments as Fiorentina responded in emphatic fashion.

The 19-year-old Mastantuono, on loan from Real Madrid, took centre stage. The Argentine winger scored twice within two minutes, cutting inside and curling home two superb efforts that drew comparisons with the trademark goals of Arjen Robben. It was a breathtaking spell that completely shifted the momentum of the match.

After the interval, Mateo Pellegrino added a third for Fiorentina on the counter-attack, putting the Viola firmly in control. Mastantuono then completed his hat-trick with a delightful lob, adding the finishing touch to a remarkable performance.

Antoine Hainaut managed to pull one back for Venezia, but there was to be no dramatic comeback. The result leaves the hosts rooted to the bottom of the table, while Fiorentina can finally celebrate a much-needed first victory of the campaign.
