Tottenham and Everton Share the Spoils as Spurs' Drought Continues

Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 0-0 draw by Everton in London, with Spurs once again unable to find the net in the Premier League. The result marked the first goalless draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the club moved into the ground in April 2019.
There was at least some defensive encouragement for Tottenham, who kept a second consecutive clean sheet. But their attacking struggles have now reached an unwanted landmark: for the first time in the club's history, Spurs have failed to score in each of their opening four league matches.
Everton had the better opportunities to break the deadlock. Antonín Kinský was fortunate after making an error, but the Tottenham goalkeeper recovered quickly to prevent Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from taking advantage. At the other end, Brennan Johnson missed a good opportunity when he sent his effort over the crossbar.
The hosts pushed for a late winner and Lucas Bergvall came close to finally ending Tottenham's frustrating wait for a goal. However, the Everton goalkeeper produced an important save to keep out his effort.
The draw means Everton remain unbeaten at the start of the season, while Tottenham are still searching desperately for their first league goal. Ukrainian international Vitalii Mykolenko completed the full 90 minutes for the Toffees.
