Real - Rayo Vallecano 4:1

Real Madrid secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu, although the second half was met with boos from the home supporters as the hosts took their foot off the gas.

The Los Blancos dominated the opening 45 minutes and completely controlled the contest. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Alvaro Carreras was fouled inside the box.

Carreras soon got his reward for winning the penalty, doubling Real Madrid's advantage after combining brilliantly with Mbappe. Jude Bellingham then added a third, finishing from a pass by Vinicius Junior to put the hosts firmly in command before the interval.

The second half, however, was a very different story. Real Madrid became increasingly passive and allowed Sergio Camello to pull a goal back for Rayo Vallecano. The drop in intensity frustrated the home crowd, with whistles ringing around the Santiago Bernabeu.

The introduction of Arda Guler provided a much-needed spark. The Turkish midfielder immediately added energy and creativity to the attack, producing a series of excellent passes as Real Madrid looked to regain control.

In the closing stages, Mbappe put the result beyond doubt by scoring his second goal of the night and completing a brace. The final scoreline reflected a dominant first half, even if the performance after the break left plenty for Real Madrid to improve.
