Inter Milan suffered a stunning 4-3 defeat to Club Brugge in the second round of the UEFA Champions League league phase, as the Belgian side pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the campaign at the iconic San Siro.

The undisputed star of the night was Nicolò Tresoldi, who scored a sensational hat-trick to punish Inter’s defensive frailties. The hosts repeatedly made costly mistakes at the back, leaving them chasing the game as Club Brugge took full advantage of their opportunities.

Inter fought back through a brace from captain Lautaro Martínez and a goal from Ange-Yoan Bonny. However, their attacking response was not enough to prevent a damaging home defeat, with Romeo Vermant also finding the net for the Belgian visitors.
