Lyon Hold Off Crystal Palace to Secure 3-2 Europa League Victory

Olympique Lyonnais made it two wins from two in the UEFA Europa League, edging past English side Crystal Palace in a thrilling 3-2 home victory. The French outfit made their chances count in an impressive first-half display, with Corentin Tolisso opening the scoring after a well-worked corner routine before Ernest Nuamah doubled Lyon’s advantage, finishing off an excellent cross from Nakamura just before the interval.
Crystal Palace came out with renewed determination after the break and began to take control of the contest. Pino pulled one back for the visitors, raising hopes of a comeback, but Schulz restored Lyon’s two-goal cushion to ease the pressure on the hosts.
The drama continued late on when Daichi Kamada reduced the deficit to a single goal, setting up a tense finale. However, Greif produced a crucial save in stoppage time to preserve Lyon’s lead and secure all three points.
